Inez Is Registered!

Hurray!  Inez is now officially registered with the CKC (Continental Kennel Club).  I just got the paperwork back today, and my whole family rejoiced with me after I performed a wild joy dance in the bedroom.  :) So, her official name is: Fidelis Gloria Inez I am so happy (in case you couldn't tell already)!  Here are some of the pictures we took for submission.  Enjoy!

Buddy + Inez = Great Pyrenees Puppies by Christmas!

This litter of puppies was never born.  Unfortunately, Inez miscarried.  She seems to be in good health now, whatever caused the miscarriage, so we are planning to try one more time.  If we breed her again, it will probably be her last litter. As of Tuesday, October 7th, Inez's first litter of full-blooded Great Pyrenees puppies are on the way.  She has had four litters before with a Chocolate Lab (see posts under the tag " Puppies "), but this is her first litter of Great Pyrenees.

Every Saturday...

My sister Savana posts on her Etsy shop every Saturday. Just look on the right hand side of the blog, and you'll see the latest item. Click on it, and it will take you to her shop. Stay tuned every Saturday! Latest item:   Savana's Etsy

I'm posting this for the owners of one of Inez's Great Labenees daughters.

Jersey Calf on the Way!

Blossom is expecting a full-blooded Jersey calf around Valentine's Day next year.  She is bred to Peppy, Buttercup's sire.  Both Peppy and Blossom are quiet and good tempered.  I like what I've seen in Buttercup- she inherited Blossom's gentle temperament (an important point in a 500 or 600 lb dairy animal), she has good conformation, and she is also polled.  The calf when it is born will probably be for sale, and will be dehorned if it is not naturally polled.  If you are interested in Blossom's calf, please send me an email for more information. (  chickenscrapsblog@gmail.com )  I will post here when it is born. Below are some pictures of Blossom and Peppy.  Blossom is currently producing 1  1/4 gallons per day, and has been in milk for a year.  She is not receiving any grain whatsoever, and is eating only grass, a couple quarts of alfalfa or Chaffhaye (usually about three quarts), and sometimes a couple quarts of beet pulp.  ...

6 Month Puppy Report Card (2013 Great Labenees litter)

Over the last week I have been contacting the owners of the puppies from our most recent litter.  All the puppies seem to be doing quite well.  Unfortunately, Bosco did have to move to a new home, through no fault of his own.  (Youngest child in his original family was terrified of him.  It was not because he was an unusually rambunctious puppy, she was just a bit timid.)  Apparently though he is happy and well with his new family on several acres.  Here is what the owners of the other five puppies have said: Jaxon (In response to my inquiry how Jaxon is doing, what commands he knows, and their favorite part of having him): "He is doing great!  He knows the commands, sit , paw and down. We love that he bring the kids so much happiness.  They love him and he's so good with them. :)" (Soon after coming home.) (A few months later.) I love the size contrast!  Current photos, as of a ...
