Well, last Tuesday w was the big day- we moved all our animals from the old place in Pierson to the new place in Bronson. It was an interesting trip- cows, goats and my sheep in the trailer behind, and birds, fish, Inez and the puppies in the van, besides all 12 of us. The puppies, especially Jaxon, whined and squealed almost the whole way to Bronson. (I think the main reason is that Jaxon, who is the largest, is a bit of a whiner, and he was crawling all over the others and squishing them, so they all squealed too.) I would occasionally pick one up and hold it for a while before returning it to the box, but they all made even more of a fuss whenever I did, so I stopped. Inez hates riding in the car, so we took her in a wire kennel, which she hated at first, but she got over her initial nervousness and eventually laid down and took the rest of the trip calmly.
Now that we are all here, we are in overdrive trying to get completely moved in. We've also been having technical difficulties, so posting an update has not been easy. This morning I finally got around to taking some individual photos of all the puppies, except Fragoso. Between Inez's health troubles, the cold weather, and being so busy with moving, I have been having more health problems with this litter than any of the previous ones, and unfortunately, we lost a puppy. It was Rosetta, and I'm not entirely sure what took her down, but it took me by surprise as she didn't seem sick until about 12 hours before she died. I'm giving all the others preventative treatment (vitamin C), and I'm also bringing them in on all the cold nights. So far, all the others seem healthy except Fragoso, who has a runny nose. I am monitoring them all carefully. I am also feeding Selah, Fragoso, and Angel from the bottle as well as what they get from Inez. Since they are a little smaller than the other three, they tend to get pushed out of the best spots at the milk bar, and I want to make sure they get plenty of milk.

They are walking now, and are becoming playful. Their teeth are coming in, and they enjoy chewing on each others trails, noses, and ears. They are also much more alert than before, and their personalities are beginning to come out. Selah is the attention hog. She just loves attention (and her bottle) and will sit and bark and whine at me when I'm taking care of one of the other puppies. The males tend to sleep a bit more than the females, but that's probably because they are bigger (except Fragoso) and consequentially keep their tummies fuller. They all enjoy being held though, and are all very sweet, fun little creatures. They were all dewormed last Saturday, and will be wormed every 1-3 weeks from now until they are picked up.
I will try to post on here more frequently, but can't promise. Of course, you are always welcome to check in and see how you puppy is doing.
As for picking up your puppy... By law we are required to keep them until they are eight weeks old, which will be on March 9th, but we will probably be quite busy that day, so sometime the next week would be best for pick-up. Contact me if there is a particular day which works best for you. Sundays are not good for us, but we can work out a time during some other part of the week.
Sounds like an entertaining ride, alright! The laundry only added to it...too bad you didn't get a picture! ;) Glad the puppies are growing well. Your diligence ispires and encourages me, Alayna! May God bless the work of your hands...
